One method,
four types of data.

We combine four types of data, weighting each according to the context, the goals and the organisation we work with.

Thick data

Qualitative research, interviews with sector experts, ethnographic data: to bring out the motivations and cultural signals that datasets do not capture.

Big data

Large-scale quantitative data from institutional, satellite and sensor sources. The empirical base for detailed analyses that can be reproduced over time.

Forward-looking data

Projections, predictive models, alternative scenarios, weak signals: tools for reasoning about plausible futures and testing how robust strategies are.

Participatory data

Input from stakeholders, co-design, participatory processes: the contribution of those who live the phenomena from the inside, which no external dataset can replace.

Chorema, the platform for
geospatial future intelligence.

The territorial intelligence platform developed by IZILab. It turns complex geospatial data into navigable insights, through more than 200 scientifically validated indices and a multi-agent architecture that tells what is verified apart from what is contextual.

It is not a dashboard. It is a research environment.

Data storytelling
for labour policy.

The context. An Italian region engaged in analysing employment dynamics launched, under the PNRR (Italy's National Recovery and Resilience Plan), a path to evolve how its studies are communicated. The analyses produced were technically very complex and difficult for decision-makers and stakeholders to use.

Our approach. We supported the client in defining a data-valorisation strategy, designing new narrative formats and an interactive digital publishing platform integrated into the institutional portal. The reports were turned into operational tools supporting public and territorial decisions.

Energy · Design & Innovation

AI-driven energy services
that are future-proof.

The context. An Italian energy operator committed to the transition towards sustainable business models needed to anticipate market change in a sector shaped by decarbonisation, electrification and new consumption behaviours.

Our approach. We implemented an integrated foresight model combining horizon scanning — mapping megatrends and identifying international best practice — with participatory design methods, to rapidly prototype new offer formats through the FlexDecks framework: AI Cards.
