Sustainable Development Goals

Health, education, energy and sustainable consumption are some of the areas in which Italy is above the EU average according to data published by the Sustainable Development Report (SDR). Our country ranks 19th among EU countries with a score of 78.8 out of 100.

Taking the Sustainable Development Report (SDR) data, IZILab has developed some simple interactive visualizations in order to take a snapshot of the current level of sustainability of all countries.

The report contains information about the SDGs concerning all countries in the world; therefore, we wanted to build a dashboard that allows you to view the main information about our country, those belonging to the EU, and, finally, the rest of the world.

What are the SDGs

The SDGs are 17 goals defined by the UN to make countries around the world sustainable.

Specifically, the UN has approved the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the essential elements of which are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 169 subgoals, which aim to end poverty, fight inequality, and social and economic development. They also take up aspects of fundamental importance to sustainable development such as addressing climate change and building peaceful societies by the year 2030.

Our dashboard

The dashboard shows the values of a sub-indicator for each of the 17 Goals, the choice of which was made by selecting the measures most representative of the individual goals.

In addition, by selecting the name of one or more countries in the filter provided, it is possible to view information about the selected countries, both in terms of the sub-indicators and the overall score for each of the 17 Goals (bottom right box). Goal scores range between 0 and 100.
