Izi Lab presents, “The Urban Green in Rome. CO2 emission and absorption. The emission market.”

Environmental sustainability is an issue that has been growing in importance in recent years. The focus has been on managing the pollutants produced by cars, power plants and, of course, factories. Lately, however, we are witnessing a paradigm shift that points to the regenerative aspects of our natural ecosystem. What is the real ability of green spaces to improve the quality of our lives? Why is proper management of these spaces important? CO2 absorption by trees, especially in urban environments, is a topic that is increasingly discussed but real research aimed at defining an economic valuation of this benefit is rarely set up. With this first report, IZI Lab tries to set some starting points from which to spark a debate precisely on the role of urban green in our cities today and in the near future.
